25 March 26 Meeting - Defibrillator training with St John's Ambulance


Many thanks to Ali (pictured-centre), very ably supported by Karen (left) and Sue (right), of St John's Ambulance who joined our March 26 meet-up. 

They provided a very engaging and informative session on CPR and how to use defibrillators, including some advice on how to help with choking cases.  

As you can see, some of us took the opportunity for some hands-on practice and we all left feeling more confident about what to do if needed.  

We also learnt more about the extraordinary and challenging work these kind volunteers do.

Clifton WI members like to get out and about in smaller groups for outings and visits.   We have some planned dates and ideas so do come along to our next meeting on April 26th or look out for your next newsletter in your inbox for further details. 🌸 👣 🎭 ♣🍲🚶🌉 In May a group are heading to Hanham Court Gardens, in July we have our annual meeting 'on the hoof' when we go for a walk ending in a local pub.  In addition, some will be going to find out a bit more of the shady history of life in Bedminster on a guided walk and we are also thinking of planning a visit to the hidden parts of Clifton Suspension Bridge.   This is in addition to monthly meetings and all our social groups getting together for theatre trips, meals or to review books and play a variety of games. Hot Walks, Cool Refreshments

  We had such a lovely, entertaining walk with Hidden and Haunted Bristol, in place of our typical monthly meeting! It was hot, hot, hot out there, but we pushed on and cooled off at the pub. The refreshments were well-earned, and the company was incomparable. Our next meeting will be at Alma Hall at 7.30pm on 28 August. Our speaker is from Somerset Road Safety, and he will be discussing road safety and having an interactive evening where we can all hone our skills as drivers.  As always, visitors are welcome to come along with a £5 donation, and we look forward to seeing everyone there.

Dance Like Nobody's Watching!

Break out your dancing shoes because our next speaker is local ballet and fitness instructor Alyson Potter-Wood of Silver Swans! We will be hearing all about this fabulous group, seeing a bit of a demonstration, and then joining in the dancing fun! This is surely not one to miss. We will be meeting in our usual location, the rear hall of Alma Church, at 7.30pm. Visitors are always welcome to attend our meetings with a £5 donation.  Any questions, concerns, or suggestions?
