July our walk and talk with some refreshments at the conclusion

 A bit of a 'heads up' for what we will be doing next month.

Instead of meeting in the Alma Hall we will be getting outside for a walk and chat with a pause for some 'refreshments' at the end.


Wed 27th July Monthly Meeting Summer Walk 



Meet on the Downs at the café near the Water Tower at 7.00 p.m. for a walk (at a stroll pace rather than a hike).


We will aim to finish at the Kings Arms Pub, Blackboy Hill by 8.30 p.m. If you prefer you can come and join us there.



If wet on the day, an e-mail will be sent to members with an alternative plan.  Look forward to seeing as many of our members as possible

Cold Hall, Warm Hearts!

Our last meeting was met with mild weather outdoors, but rather chilly temps indoors! The heating was broken in Alma Hall, but the beautiful church came to our rescue with a grander backdrop than we're used to for our monthly meeting. We had a lovely time catching up and discussing the resolutions, which led to a lively debate, and took the opportunity to shop at our book and regifting stalls. A special thanks to those who helped the evening go smoothly, despite the change of venue. Unfortunately, it appears February is going to turn cold once again! We had a little reprieve from winter, but it was not to last. So, we will have to keep warm together and listen to another wonderful speaker. On 28 February, we will host Claire Hiscock, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Avon & Somerset. She will discuss their priorities for tackling violence against women and girls in our area. Some events and ideas for Clifton WI members over this summer

Clifton WI members like to get out and about in smaller groups for outings and visits.   We have some planned dates and ideas so do come along to our next meeting on April 26th or look out for your next newsletter in your inbox for further details. 🌸 👣 🎭 ♣🍲🚶🌉 In May a group are heading to Hanham Court Gardens, in July we have our annual meeting 'on the hoof' when we go for a walk ending in a local pub.  In addition, some will be going to find out a bit more of the shady history of life in Bedminster on a guided walk and we are also thinking of planning a visit to the hidden parts of Clifton Suspension Bridge.   This is in addition to monthly meetings and all our social groups getting together for theatre trips, meals or to review books and play a variety of games. Dance Like Nobody's Watching!

Break out your dancing shoes because our next speaker is local ballet and fitness instructor Alyson Potter-Wood of Silver Swans! We will be hearing all about this fabulous group, seeing a bit of a demonstration, and then joining in the dancing fun! This is surely not one to miss. We will be meeting in our usual location, the rear hall of Alma Church, at 7.30pm. Visitors are always welcome to attend our meetings with a £5 donation.  Any questions, concerns, or suggestions?
