I'd like to remind you about the appeal we received (see post from 2 December) for volunteers to assist in a study connected with MS research in case you didn't have time to consider it in the busy pre-Christmas period. They're seeking mature healthy women to undergo tests aimed at measuring how performance in simple repetitive cognitive tasks is affected by tiredness.

The whole procedure took a little under 1.5 hours altogether, and the experience was very interesting. I can't pretend that the brain scan was actively enjoyable, but it was OK and the paper tests before and after the scan were quite fun.

Please do consider volunteering - you might well be giving a valuable gift to somebody unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with MS in the future. Thank you.

Some events and ideas for Clifton WI members over this summer

Clifton WI members like to get out and about in smaller groups for outings and visits.   We have some planned dates and ideas so do come along to our next meeting on April 26th or look out for your next newsletter in your inbox for further details. 🌸 👣 🎭 ♣🍲🚶🌉 In May a group are heading to Hanham Court Gardens, in July we have our annual meeting 'on the hoof' when we go for a walk ending in a local pub.  In addition, some will be going to find out a bit more of the shady history of life in Bedminster on a guided walk and we are also thinking of planning a visit to the hidden parts of Clifton Suspension Bridge.   This is in addition to monthly meetings and all our social groups getting together for theatre trips, meals or to review books and play a variety of games. July 26th our summer walk and pub visit

  For our July meeting at Clifton WI we like to get out and about.   This time we are heading to the Harbour We will meet outside the Nova Scotia Pub at the far end of the harbour at 7.00pm on Weds 26th July.  There is parking in this area in the evening for those who will be driving or sharing lifts. We aim to walk around a route chosen by 2 of our members and return to the pub for a drink at the end.  It will not be the complete harbour walk  Should you not want to join us for the walk but would like to come along any way, please head to the pub for appx 8.15 - 8.30(ish) Visitors are welcome to join us but we do request a payment of £5.00 cash.  This can be a good way to meet some of us Clifton WI members without having to go to a meeting in the hall as your first step.

Sparklers & Bubbly

  Join us on 29 November for our next monthly meeting! We will hear from Gordon Young about the Avon Gorge, Clifton Suspension Bridge, and even relive the spectacular 2015 fireworks display!  Additionally, our lovely Clifton WI is celebrating 15 years at our November meeting. We will be celebrating with sparklers and a glass of bubbly, so make sure you join us for a very lovely evening.  As always, we will be meeting in the rear hall of Alma Church at 7.30pm.
