Fancy seeing some of the usually hidden aspects of Clifton Suspension Bridge? We have a chance to go an a vaults guided tour on Saturday 1st July at 12.30.  We will meet at the Visitor Centre on the Leigh Woods side of the Bridge. We have a few spaces so if you would like to come but want to bring a friend please just contact us at thecliftonwi@gmail.com.  Helen who is organising this trip for us will be contacting members to confirm numbers and payment in the next few days. Payment will depend on numbers as it is a group booking. As long as you are physically fit and feel confident to go up and down a 15-rung vertical ladder, it will be an experience to remember. Marvel at the feat of engineering in its historical context and enjoy the array of stalactites and rock formations with our knowledgeable and entertaining guide A couple of members Helen and Nicky are going to try their hand at lawn bowls on Saturday July 15th.  They would love some other Clifton WI members to join them for

A bottle raffle and Chair Burlesque - all coming to our June meeting for Clifton WI

Well we have quite a combination for June at Clifton WI.   Hope you are able to join us members or visitors If you could bring a bottle (filled) to help with our fund raising in June that would be lovely.  It could be alcoholic or non.  Raffle tickets will be sold at the meeting so please also bring some cash with you.  We would love it if everyone could go home with a prize so the more donations the better. Wondering what Chair Burlesque is all about? Come along on June 28th to Alma Hall at appx 8.00 and Kiki Kisses (aka Laura from North Bristol) will introduce us to this fun way to get fit.  No fishnets or glossy red tresses required!!

To sip, gurgle or spit! Tasting wine tips for Clifton WI in May

🍷🍾  We had the chance to try some unusual wines or from places you may not associate with wine production in May.  All were from budget supermarkets and squeezed under the £6.00 per bottle limit. We travelled around Europe and headed off to further destinations in South America, South Africa and Australia.  Gill (one of our members) took us through a generous tasting experience and finished with a quiz to test our knowledge.  The winner Lizzie does grow her own so maybe that gave her an edge?! Thanks Gill it was fun - even for those who were driving so couldn't swallow.
