Summer Social

For our next meeting, we will be continuing our tradition of a summer social and forgoing a typical meeting in Alma Hall. On 31st July, we're taking a walk through Bristol to learn about the more haunted aspects of our fair city, and ending at the lovely Architect Bar on Narrow Quay in Harbourside. We should be at the bar around 9pm, and anyone is welcome to join us for a beverage and a bit of a chat!

We resume our speaker programme on 28th August with Steve Greenhalgh from Somerset Road Safety who will talk about safe driving and the road conditions of our area. As always, visitors are welcome with £5 donation, and we will meet in the rear hall of Alma Church at 7pm!

Clifton WI members like to get out and about in smaller groups for outings and visits.   We have some planned dates and ideas so do come along to our next meeting on April 26th or look out for your next newsletter in your inbox for further details. 🌸 👣 🎭 ♣🍲🚶🌉 In May a group are heading to Hanham Court Gardens, in July we have our annual meeting 'on the hoof' when we go for a walk ending in a local pub.  In addition, some will be going to find out a bit more of the shady history of life in Bedminster on a guided walk and we are also thinking of planning a visit to the hidden parts of Clifton Suspension Bridge.   This is in addition to monthly meetings and all our social groups getting together for theatre trips, meals or to review books and play a variety of games. Sparklers & Bubbly

  Join us on 29 November for our next monthly meeting! We will hear from Gordon Young about the Avon Gorge, Clifton Suspension Bridge, and even relive the spectacular 2015 fireworks display!  Additionally, our lovely Clifton WI is celebrating 15 years at our November meeting. We will be celebrating with sparklers and a glass of bubbly, so make sure you join us for a very lovely evening.  As always, we will be meeting in the rear hall of Alma Church at 7.30pm. Cold Hall, Warm Hearts!

Our last meeting was met with mild weather outdoors, but rather chilly temps indoors! The heating was broken in Alma Hall, but the beautiful church came to our rescue with a grander backdrop than we're used to for our monthly meeting. We had a lovely time catching up and discussing the resolutions, which led to a lively debate, and took the opportunity to shop at our book and regifting stalls. A special thanks to those who helped the evening go smoothly, despite the change of venue. Unfortunately, it appears February is going to turn cold once again! We had a little reprieve from winter, but it was not to last. So, we will have to keep warm together and listen to another wonderful speaker. On 28 February, we will host Claire Hiscock, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Avon & Somerset. She will discuss their priorities for tackling violence against women and girls in our area.
