Clifton WI – Urgent News  Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Following yesterday’s briefing that, regardless of age, we should avoid non-essential contact with each other, avoiding places such as, pubs, clubs and other similar social gatherings, it may come as no surprise that our meeting on Wednesday 25th March has been postponed. We hope that we will have the opportunity to belly dance with Pat Wright at a later date.

It is highly likely that this will be the situation for the next few meetings.

As regards our social clubs e.g. Bridge, Mah-jong, members should decide themselves whether or not they wish to continue, taking into account recent guidance:

  • Anyone with a fever or persistent cough should stay at home for seven days if they live alone or 14 days if they live with others. Anyone who lives with someone displaying coronavirus symptoms should also stay at home for 14 days
  • Everyone should stop non-essential contact with others. This is particularly important for people over 70, those with underlying health conditions and pregnant women.

These are truly extraordinary times. Clifton WI is a wonderful social group and will, I’m sure, be looking out for each other. If you do need support while self-isolating please email cliftonwi@gmail.com .

It is important that we stay as connected as possible to alleviate the loneliness and worry that the uncertainty of this situation can bring. We will be looking at ways to help us all get through this.

Keep safe everyone.
