Centenary Coins

Unless you've been holidaying in Outer Mongolia for the past few months, you'll know that this year marks the Centenary of the NFWI as well as the 40th anniversary of the Avon Federation.

On the Centenary theme, Clifton WI is aiming to collect 100 inches of coins - preferably gold ones! -
as we still need to fundraise in order to have a worthwhile operating surplus for the year to donate to our charitable cause, which this year is Homestart Bristol  http://www.homestartbristol.org.uk/

So please be ready to place your gold coinage onto the golden ribbon next Wednesday - this project will raise over £100 from £1 coins, far more if we can manage £2 coins!

Has anybody any good fundraising ideas?

If you have a lightbulb fundraising idea - something fun and inclusive, or something which could perhaps take on a life of its own, then do please let us have it! The cost of running the branch is ever-increasing and since our aim is to donate all surplus each year to our chosen charity, we need to find ways of ensuring that our donation is a generous one that will really make a difference to the Bristol women who benefit from our annually-chosen charity.
